The app and this website use third-party data and fonts. The credits below are a condition of the respective licence.

Weather data

The weather values POTD writes into a photo - and which appear in the screenshots on this website - come from Open-Meteo.com and are licensed under CC BY 4.0.

Sun position, golden and blue hour and shadow length, by contrast, are computed by the app itself from capture time and GPS position.

Location data

Peak name and distance come from OpenStreetMap, queried through the public Overpass API: © OpenStreetMap contributors, licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL). All other place values - place name, country, street, water - come from Apple’s on-device geocoder.

Fonts

This website uses Caveat, Playfair Display and Raleway under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The full licence texts are included: Caveat · Playfair Display · Raleway.

The app bundles 82 font families under the SIL Open Font License 1.1 or the Apache License 2.0. The complete list including all copyright notices is shown in the app under Settings → About → Licences; the licence texts ship with the app.
